Pefkos (Pefki - in Greek means 'pine tree')

A beautiful family-friendly resort in Rhodes

Pefkos Beach

Pefkos (Pefki - in Greek means 'pine tree') is a beautiful low profile village resort, which was once known as a fisherman's town and is situated roughly 50km from Rhodes town between the ancient Acropolis of Lindos and the inland village of Lardos.

Pefkos remains largely uncommercialised and is therefore still a small tourist resort geared mainly towards families and couples tempting the the British and northern Europeans. The village has many quality restaurants, tavernas and bars offering Greek cuisine, European dishes, as well as Chinese and Indian.

Boat Trip BeachPefkos has grown from a sleepy little bay into a lively small resort with a long beach and beautifully clean sea with good watersports. The sands here are not as crowded as they get in the neighbouring village of Lindos. With less watering holes and packed discos but still a number of delightful tavernas, the pace is quieter, slower in tempo, and somehow a bit more Greek. For a laid-back time, with a night or two in Lindos for serious fun, Pefkos offers the best of both worlds.

Lindos AcropolisNearby is Lindos town, with a population of 1,000 people, it is one of the most interesting archaeological sites in Rhodes and it attracts thousands of visitors from all over the world.

It is very well known for its Acropolis of Lindos and it is the birthplace of Charis the Lindios, architect of Colossus of Rhodes. Just like the Old Town of Rhodes, it was declared as a monument for preservation and therefore it has managed to maintain its old tradition and style.

On the sandy beach of Lindos bay, you can relax and enjoy the sun all day long or if you are the active type of person there are plenty of water sports, from water skiing, to banana riding, jet skiing and paragliding. In the evening, you you can sample all the Greek specialties offered by the numerous tavernas that are lined up along the beach front.
