Postby sparky_uk on Sat Jul 31, 2010 4:55 pm

Hi

Has anyone travelled to the Falaraki Water Park as i`m after a bit of advice please ?

I have heard there is a free bus but it does get very packed .

We would like to visit the Water Park leaving from the Matina .

Also heard that Taxi`s can be expensive but there might also be a bus service that leaves from near by ?

thanks for any help

Loads of info on there re the waterpark and free bus etc...all your questions not to do with the Matina will get answered on there.

There is currently a post on the main board about the free bus !!

Paul the bus goes from the main road outside Pefkos By Night which is a bar at the far end of Pefkos about a 10 min walk tops from the Matina. They are experiencing some big problems at the moment with fuel strikes so are recommending that you don't use the bus but book an excursion...hopefully by the time you go it will be sorted because its a much cheaper way using the bus !!

There's a live chatroom on FOP aswell usually somebody in there to answer any questions you have...if Emma is on she works in one of the travel agents so is good for advice and she's lovely !!

Hi Paul,

We hired a car for a few days when we were there and me and a mate took our ladsn (aged 7) to the water park. Was very easy to get to by car and meant we could leave when we wanted to. It gets very very hot up there and is a recipe for a sunburnt disaster - as I nearly found out and I was plastered in cream. If all three of you are going then at least you can get sunbeds with umbrella and chill for a bit. It will be somewhere to leave your t-shirts, flip flops, sunglasses etc as you are not allowed these on any of the slides and the concrete is very hot. If it's just the two lads going then there are lots of lockers by the entrance which you can use for a €5 deposit. I've read that your partners son is 13 which is good as children under the age of 13 can't go or any of the decent slides.

Thanks for that Dave
Very helpful cheers !!

As you know its nice to try and visit a few places !
Did you have fun at the park ?
I have read that people have recommended wearing socks at the water park as the paths are so hot !
How did you get on ? Did you wear socks and were they white Dave ..

May i also ask roughly how much it will cost for a couple of days car hire ?

Only five more sleeps :D

Can`t wait to visit the highly thought of and highly recommended Matina

Hi Paul,

The waterpark was brilliant - a great day out and the boys loved it. We just left our flip flops at bottom of the flumes and walked on up. It was very hot walking up to the top of the flumes but there's usually enough people dripping water on the concrete paths and little bits of shade that it shouldn't be too much of a problem. We literally just had with us, sunglasses, flip flops and my underwater camera. On all the flumes that we could go on, my sunglasses were just held in my hand on the way down as they wouldn't let you wear them or any jewellry.

Three days car hire for a small car could set you back about €50 - most places were doing 3 days for the price of 2 in early July.

Am sure you'll love the Matina :D

Cheers Dave !

Iv`e got to ask mate ......Why did you have your underwater Camera at the Waterpark ? :)

Surely there aren`t any fish on the slides with you ... :D

Sounds really great Dave !

Love that nice Mythos in your photo Dave , that looks a nice size and very inviting !!

Cheers

 no fish no - at least none that i could see! Took a few photos of us all around the waterpark and didn't matter if it got wet. I'll get some up here for you to see

Oh yes that Mythos is good - in fact I've still got half dozen in the shed. If we get any decent weather back i'll have to finish them off
