Hi Paul ...Welcome to MOM !!

No inflight entertainment anymore on flights less than 5 hours !! and I do believe this is not just with Thomas Cook other carriers are also adopting this policy.

Enjoy your holiday :-)

Yeah I noticed that when our tickets came yesterday, btw we are going on 18th from Gatwick, thinking of using the online service to pre book seats and to be able to check in online (our 6 year old doesnt do queues very well), has anyone used this service with TC before, and is it worth it, I travel loads with work and always use online check in so i just have to turn up and drop my bag, how useful is the service with a "bucket and spade" airline?

We travel on the 28th August with TC. I keep reading about this online check in and was wondering if it is worth doing. It is a long time since we have flown so if anyone can explain how this works it would be useful. Thank you.

Yes Sue remember them ..
And free tea and Coffee and an up to date in fight magazine in the pouch in front of you .

We must be getting old ..lol

On line check in ..Never had that in the good old days ..

Is that expensive and do you just drop your bags off ...as simple as that ..

Also has anyone had any trouble with baggage allowance ?

Has anyone had to pay extra as sure i will go over ...and have paid extra to up to 20kg

OIY....speak for yourself about getting old LOL !!! But sadly its true :)

You should'nt have to pay to check in online and yep in my opinion its well worth it no long queues except the one to drop your bags off which has never been more than a couple of families for me - you will need to have a printer to print off your boarding passes but other than that its quite straight forward.

Never had to pay YET ...an am over every time ...except for this hol we flew with easyjet and for £10 per kilo over i was very careful !!!!

and thats another thing Paul...why are we not paying for upto 25kg...20kg was always the norm and not 15 !!!!!!!

You will have to pay though to pre-book your seats....again for me its just another worry out the way before I get to the airport !!

We ve got 20kgs anyway (direct holidays standard) As far as I am aware and if it is the same as other airlines, you check in online before you get to the airport & print your boarding passes, then when you get to the airport you just go to a seperate baggage drop off counter, none of the checking passports, allocating seats, printing boarding cards. This is how it works with other airlines that I use regularly (BA, Lufthansa, even Easyjet) Cost for me the wife and son is going to be £15 each so £45 for both ways, either that or you turn up at the airport and take pot luck where you are sitting and it also means getting there v early, which when its a 7.45am flight means 5.30!!
